Designing Clothes: culture and organization of the fashion industry #4

Hello Bloggers, my name is Reddick Harris and this is my fourth blog post. In this blog, I will be discussing bringing back old pieces. In this blog, you will learn how to take things that may not appeal to the younger generation and turn it into a statement.
Another Christian Dior idea is the “New Look”. The "New Look" represented a return to femininity that had been repressed during the war years. “The “New Look” could be described as a look back toward a time, place and class when the ideal woman was living a domestic life of leisure” (Veronica Manlow 47.).  So everyone please feel free to reach back into those closets and create a new look.
Here is some examples:

The first example we have is a vintage, oversized jacket and vintage bell-bottoms. This outfit would look nice even in 2017. The jacket and bell-bottoms paired together plus the accessories make for a great look.  This is a great example of a casual “new look”.
The second outfit is a vintage mini dress (1970s). On its own, it may not make a big impression but once paired with the heels and the other accessories this outfit becomes an outfit relevant for 2017. This outfit is an example of a dressy/ casual “new look”.
What old pieces are you going to bring back?
