Semenova, Elena Yoga For Emotional Balance
If you want to be good at any sport or physical activity you have to learn how to listen to your senses and your mind has to be free from distractions and you have to learn how to free your mind from the diffrent thoughts and cpmletly focus on the task and to do that, you have to have complete emotional balane and be able to commit fully to the task at hand. for teenagers these days, its hard to focus completely with all the technology and the many distractions that life gives you, but Bo Forbes says that "Stress too plays a major role. Fortunately, this does not mean the onset of dementia! With yoga, you can jump start your brain again! Yoga helps to slow down your pace. The moment you learn to relax your mind and body, the mind steers away from the clutter and you are able to think more clearly. The clearer your thinking is, the better your concentration levels will be" ( Bo Forbes,31). When you sit in the pose Bharadvaj's Twist, your legs are directly under you so your whole body is aligned, and the twist in the spine makes the biggest difference, when i sat in the Bharadvaj's Twist, all the tensions that had build in my back from siting down too long or sleeping wrong, let go in my back, it was like i had little knots in my back and they all became straight again. our daily life gives us a lot of opportunities to develop different back problems and that interferes with our focus and emotions, like Bo Forbes said " We don't pay attention to our back enough and you cant focus or be emotionally balanced when there is tension in your back, but doing this easy pose for 10-15 minutes every day or every other day will release all the tension and will help you sleep better and focus better at the activities you are currently doing without the distraction of your back hurting"( 51). When i tried this pose i instantly felt better and was able to complete an entire project in one sitting, whereas if i didnt sit in the Bharadvaj's Twist, I would have to get up fora lot of random things, and i just sat like that for 15 minutes and completely turning off my cell phone and telling my family not to disturb me. If you do this pose for 10-15 minutes every other day, i believe you too will be able to accomplish things you thought were hard before, like hitting a home run, hitting that soccer ball into the net from a distance everyone thought you couldn't do before. Amaze your teachers by getting an A on that on that 7-page essay, and a project that your grade depends on, blow away your coaches by showing them how you deserve to be the team captain!
What activity do you plan on improving with this great and easy yoga pose?

Elena, good job on your blog post! I'm happy to hear that trying yoga made a concrete difference in your life. I haven't tried the specific pose that you've mentioned in your post, but Marichyasana III is one of my favorite twisting poses. Whenever I do it, I sleep better that night. When I stick to my yoga schedule at the gym, I feel way more energized throughout the day. I'd say that I mostly do yoga for its physical benefits. Why do you?
ReplyDeleteEmily, i like the Marichyasana III pose too! and to get even better sleep and really be able to concentrate you should definitely try the Bharadvaj's Twist, but ill defiantly try the pose that helps you with better sleep! I feel like its equally about the body and the mind that goes into yoga, especially the poses i will be writing about.
DeleteElena this looks great! I honestly have never really been a fan of yoga because I feel like it might not actually help with all of the stress, but reading this really made think I should give this a shot at home! Sometimes I have so much free time instead of watching TV my goal now is to get up and try some of these poses! Very interesting post and love how you put in there that it can help you get a better night sleep- very useful. Keep posting! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteEve, yoga actually helps with the stress! I thought like you but the I tried it myself and my life was transformed, instead of watching TV you should defiantly do a couple poses ill be writing about next, because they are easy fun and helpful.
DeleteI love your post Elena! I have always tried to get into yoga but I never could. I know my mom loves yoga and she always tells me how much it helps with your stress and helps to achieve a more relaxed, calm, outlook. I will definitely have to try the yoga pose you mentioned because lately, I have been very stressed and cluttered and it is always so hard focusing to get my homework done when I'm continually thinking about the next thing I have to do. I also dance so finding balance through yoga will make a huge difference in my flexibility. Can't wait to see what else you post! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yoga is really easy when you really find that inner balance which isn't hard at all. Yes I totally agree with your mom! It defiantly does all that and yoga will defiantly help you with your dancing, plus doing this easy pose for a couple minutes each day will help you with your school work and getting better sleep! Defiantly try out this pose and the next ones ill talk about!
