Orgiami Hobby Post #5 -Crane

Well, This is my final post, I got to really make this count, today I am doing probably the most well know piece of origami the Crane. A little pay of hammage to one of my favorite childhood stories "The 1000 Cranes" Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl who was two years old when she was exposed to radiation from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima during World War II. Sasaki soon developed leukemia at age 12. After spending a significant amount of time in a hospital, she began making origami cranes with the goal of making one thousand, inspired by the senbazuru legend. The story told to me as a kid warranted her wish came true. This story always gave me a sense of hope. So here we go!
I am going to be using Origami Way as I had used on my second post. Because it is so much better than the book.

Step 1 is forming a corner to corner crease. Forming a Triangle.
step 2 "Fold the triangle in half by taking the left corner and folding it to the right." (Origamiway)
Step 3 "Take the top flap and open it, creasing the left and right sides so you can fold the the top/right corner to the bottom corner" (Origamiway). Basically make a square by pulling out the corners from the folded triangle.
Do the same on the other side.
Step 4 "Grab the left and right side of the flap and open it up. Crease the sides so you can fold the top corner down to the bottom"(Origamiway). This will create a diamond shape when your done. Do on both sides.

Step 5 Once you have the "diamond" open up the sides to basically make 2 "wings" and 2 "heads"
Fold the wings up, then down a little lower than the initial fold to make a spring-like shape.
Do the same on the other wing. Then Grab one "head and push the tip downward.
Lift the wings slightly and you are now done with the simple crane!
