Finally some results (Nolan Cleary Post 3)

So finally after doing the things that Salo has written in his book I'm finally seeing improvements in some of my races. Though they are very minuscule it is helping me to know that what I'm doing is helping me and motivating me to keep going.

So the left table obviously is the before and then table on the right is the more recent table which shows some overall improvement even though currently it's pretty small.

This is due to the workouts that Salo had talked about but also how he stressed and explained the importance of a good warm-up and warm down. Like how the warm-up that he explains and talks about gets you into a state of mind where you know you're ready to compete or how a proper cool down brings the body back down to a recovery state where they're ready to compete again (Salo 30). Now that's just the general ideas of these -pre and -post race exercises.

That's what each of those actives are generalized. However Salo explains what they're for "The warm-up prepares the body to race and preform at a high level. The cool-down starts the recovery process and is essential for getting the body ready for the next practice or the next race" (Salo 19). So after what he said and form your past experiences I ask you do you do both a warm-up and cool down or do you just do one of the two?
