She's a star makeup look

       For my last look I decided to do the "She's a star" look from the Lauren Luke Looks book.

For this look I used:
-The 24K Nudes
-Revlon photo ready foundation     
-The falsies volume mascara
-e.l.f eyeliner pen
-e.l.f eyeshadow brush
-e.l.f blending brush
                                        















This look can be totally customizable, you can either do this look step by step or change the colors, skip steps. You don't have to exactly do what I did. Makeup is a was to express yourself, so add a little bit of yourself to this look.

      The first thing I did was prime my eyelids.

Thee Next thing I did was put  gold eyeshadow on my lids,

When putting the gold eyeshadow, you want to apply it "all over the eyelid, right into the inner corner and out along the crease, extending slightly at the outer corner"(Luke 165).  As you can see in the photo of how I did it.  Also MAKE SURE TO BLEND THE EYESHADOW! Not blending the eyeshadow will make it look like a blob of gold(or whatever color you choose to do)  and that does not look very appealing.

       Next, I added brown and a little bit of black on my outer corner to add depth to the look.

You can chose to do this step first then add the gold or do it the way that I did it.  I personally like doing the brown and black first, but I wanted to try this way.


For my brow highlight I used the white eyeshadow.

In the book since she did a full face, she the same white eyeshadow for her brows and put a little of it on her nose(that being the nose highlight).

    Now time for eyeliner. Applying eyeliner is definitely still  struggle for me but I get the gist of it, so if I keep practicing and practicing then I will be able to get that "perfect" winged liner.

When applying the winged eyeliner  you want to start from the middle then extend outward and end with a little flick. Then from the center extend that to the inner corner, but not to far. You can go back and make it as thick as you want or as thin as you want.

That is the end of the eye look. 

This look for me was fairly simple and pretty easy to achieve, I would definitely do this look again.

The wow factor

     I decided to do a full face look from the Lauren Luke Looks book by Lauren Luke called "The wow factor".

     In this look I used:
- Powder foundation brush
- e.l.f. eyeliner pen
-Revlon photo ready foundation
- Mary Kay powder foundation
-e.l.f "bold berry" (red lipstick)

This look is a fairly simple look. It's not too complicated, in my opinion. In the book Lauren Luke uses a "matte cream eyeshadow" (Luke 87) and I didn't have that so I decided to skip that step and do something else.
   
     First I put my Revlon photo ready foundation all over my eyelid as a primer and also to act as the "matte cream eyeshadow"(Luke 87).

    Next I did a winged liner. In the book Lauren Luke describes how to do a winged eyeliner, she states "Rest the little finger on your cheek and. Starting in the middle of the upper lid. draw a line extending to the outer edge and finish with a small flick"(Luke 88)

Keep in mind, when you are drawing the winged liner and you are doing the little flick, don't flick to hard. Just do little "flicks" kind of lightly and small flicks until you get the desired winged length.
   It definitely took me a couple of tries to get a decent wing liner, i'm still learning how to do it and every time I do a winged liner it gets better and better.
    {If on your first try you don't get the "perfect" winged liner, that's ok. Just keep trying, It will probably take you a few attempts or even a couple of days.}

The whole eye look was just that, see it's a simple eye look.

        Then I decided to put some powder foundation all over my face and wear a red lip, to tie the look together.

       In the book Lauren Luke added a heart to her cheek, but I decided not to do that.

You can totally play around with how you want the look to turn out, you can use a different lipstick, you can add eyeshadow, you can do anything your heart desires. You don't have to do exactly as I did it or as the book did it. Play around with different colors, go CRAZY,  and you will possibly like what you did.
      Now that you have seen this look, is this a look you would recreate? On a scale from 1 to 10(1 being very bad 10 being very good), how good are you at doing a winged eyeliner?

Eyeshadow look: Go for gold

      My 3rd look I created from the Lauren Luke Looks by Lauren Luke is the "go for gold" look. This look is fairly simple.

The thing that was tricky about this look is the wing that was in the look. As you can see in the the picture she has winged her eyeliner and I chose to do the wing. It wasn't to hard to do but my wings(on both eyes) turned out a little different but it wasn't to much of a difference. Mastering a wing eyeliner definitely is hard, but it isn't impossible to accomplish.

For this look I used:

• Revlon Photo ready foundation 
• The falsies volume mascara 
• The 24K Nudes 
• e.l.f eyeliner pen   
• e.l.f eyeshadow brush
• e.l.f blending brush 

The 1st thing I did was put my Revlon photo ready foundation all over my eyelids to make my eyelids 1 color.

Next I put the gold color all over my lid, in the Lauren Luke Looks book she says to use a "Yellow- Gold eyeshadow"(Luke 119). Make sure to put this gold all over your eyelids and blend(in the picture my eyeshadow was not blended, but I do blend it after I just didn't take an after picture)

                                                                                                                

       Next, on the brow bone I put a silvery white color. In the Lauren Luke Looks she says to use a "white eyeshadow"(Luke 120) and that was the closest color I had to white, it still turned out good though (In this picture you can see the gold eyeshadow is blended). Make sure to not put a lot and also blend out the color so it won't look like a blob of (in my case) silvery white eyeshadow.

      Now for the tricky part... winged eyeliner.  "Start in the middle upper eyelid and draw a very fine line to the outer corner, giving a little flick at the end."(Luke 120). Since this winged liner didn't really have "structure" to it wasn't as hard as it would be if the wing had more "structure".

 

  

       After I put the same gold eyeshadow to my lower lash line. In the book she uses a "Honey- gold eyeliner"(Luke 122) to the lower lash line instead of gold eyeshadow.

       Next I put on mascara.

In the book she says to "Apply one layer, wait for 10-20 seconds, apply another layer- and watch your lashes stand up"(Luke 122), and I did that and that made my eyelashes appear more longer.

 This is how the look turned out.

          This is a look that doesn't take a long time(minus the eyeliner. Unless you mastered the art of winged eyeliner). I got to practice my wing eyeliner my right eye was fine but my left need a little work. Do you know how to do wing eyeliner? If you do, how long did it take for you to "master" it?

Eyeshadow look: Natural Glow

         For my second look I decided to do another simple look which is called "Vintage Gold" in the Lauren Luke Looks book. The look wasn't super hard to achieve and the directions of the book were clear. I decided to modify it a little bit  because from the background information that I know, but I still followed most of the steps.

This is the look that I did

For this look I used:

• The 24K Nudes
• e.l.f essential flawless eyeshadow
• Volum' Express the falsies mascara  
• e.l.f.eyeshadow brush 
• e.l.f blending brush 

Starting off I put my Revlon photo ready foundation all over my eyelids to make my eyelids be one color.

This is where I modified the look in the Lauren Luke Looks book she added the gold to the eyelids then added the dark shades but from my own reserch(a.k.a youtube videos) I lerened that you should do a transtition then add the crease color, and that is what I did.

 So, I put the color circled in red all over my eyelids and then the color circled in black all over my eyelids to be the starting transition.

Then I added a black eyshadow color to my outer corners, Making sure to blend using a "circular motion"(Luke 53).

As you can see blending is crucial because if you do not blend the eyeshadow it for one looks bad and second of all it just looks like a blob of a black color(which is not appealing).

Next I added a gold eyeshdaow to my crease. The first one I put on was not to pigmanted(so you could not see the color that much).

So I wet an eyeshadow brush and got another gold eyshadow and placed it on my eyelids(wetting the eyeshadow brush made the gold eyeshadow more pigmanted and shimmary).

The next thing I did was out the a gold eyeshadow on my lower lash line, to show the allusiion that my eyes are bigger,  making sure to not get any eyshadow in my eye. According to the Lauren Luke Looks her tip was to "Try not to get eyeshadow in your eye- It hurts!"(Luke 53), from expirence I can say I agree with that statment.

It's not to noticable though.

The last thing I did was put mascara on my eyelashes 

I think this look turned out ok, I could have out the black eyeshadow a little bit more up to pop more, but all in all it look pretty good.

Even though in the book Lauren Luke adds the dark color afrtewards it still shows a clean look. I reallly didn't know the affects of the transtion color or why you need to add a dark color to the look. I know now that it gives a clean look and also ties the look together while giving it kinda dramatic effect.
